My initial story idea was to do a story about the Pepperdine baseball field groundskeepers who keep the field in award-winning shape. Then, I discovered that the head groundskeeper’s son was a freshman on the baseball team and no one had reported that fact. This is a perfect example of the type of story I would like to seek out and tell throughout my career.
